ReBuilding A Website

Wanted to clean up the code in my site tonight, get rid of dead links. In the process I managed to lose most of my site. The framework remains intact but having to rewrite content.

This didn’t bother me as much as I once thought it would. It’s a topic I’m familiar with (Great Danes) and I have a better idea what I’m doing this time around.
Within a month of having this site up the first time I had the top spot in Google for my keyword. Was still on the first page last time I checked. Not sure where I was before I screwed up the site, doesn’t really matter now.
Since I’m starting anew I figured I would share how I’m doing it with you. [Cuz I'm cool like that]

First, I’m starting with my Home page because I have stuff all over the internet I can link to, something I didn’t have before.

I will go to the formidable site of an authority in the field and consider how their information is laid out.

Losing a great deal of the work I’ve put in over the last year didn’t bother me as much as I once thought it would. Yes, this kind of thing happens to everybody at some point in their journey.

The site is a topic I’m familiar with (Great Danes) and I have a better idea what I’m doing online this time around.
Within a month of having this site up the first time I had the top spot in Google for Great Dane Training, was still on the first page last time I checked. Not sure where I was before I screwed up the site. Since I’m starting anew I figured I would share how I’m doing it with you.

I looked at the sites currently ranked high for the keyword. Finding these sites is as easy as typing the query into Google search. This gives me a feel for what they did with the site so I could create a similar look and feel.
The text in bold, bullet points, or that stands out is what the search engines see and says, Hey look at me, I’m related to the content on this site.

Ideally you are going to want that important content to link to a page – preferably on your own site – with more specific or otherwise relevant information.

**Check back often to see how I’m rebuilding a website.

The keywords used in a top ranking site are theoretically good keywords surrounding the topic.

I will write a short blurb about each of the words and will link the actual word to a page with the same name where there will be more info, maybe a video and possibly an interactive widget.

Fickle SEO

Forbes recently put out an article detailing the importance of substance
and relevance over “fickle, fickle SEO”.

The show starts with some prepared questions and the viewer is able to ask any questions that might arise.  Any queries internet related are welcome.

Brand Personalization Live goes live Monday to Friday at 4:00est/7:00pst.  That happens to be peak usage time so the live shows may be a little choppy but the recordings will be more polished we are told by the host.

During shows you can interact with the host through Facebook.

Shooting Live, Recording Local.
